Located on the bend of the Salmon River in Chipman, New Brunswick, Camp Wegesegum has provided Christian camping to the youth of the Maritimes since 1923. The Site, held in trust by the Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council of the United Church of Canada and the Canadian Baptists Of Atlantic Canada, boasts this unique relationship in addition to breathtaking scenery, peace and serenity within the Chapel in the pines, and a history of Christian community that has inspired hundreds of campers annually to make and/or renew their faith promises.
Preserving Our History: Among the Pines
To celebrate Camp Wegesegum’s 100th anniversary in 2023 and ensure our history is never forgotten, Chelsie Doherty wrote Among the Pines. This book tells the story of our camp—its people, traditions, and the moments that have shaped generations of campers—capturing the spirit, faith, and community that make Wegesegum so special.
Among the Pines is more than a history—it’s a celebration of everything that has made our camp a home for hundreds of youth over the past century.
