Rules and Guidelines
- Camp Wegesegum is a smoke, alcohol and drug free environment
- Campers are to remain on camp grounds at all times (a sign out sheet is provided for those who must leave the site).
- The kitchen is out of bounds to all campers, counselors and staff (unless on kitchen duty).
- Males and females are to stay out of each others’ cabins.
- Campers are to remain in their cabins after lights out unless using the bathroom.
- Bare feet are not allowed.
- Staff, counselors and campers are to be part of all camp activities.
- No one is permitted at the pool or the waterfront unless the lifeguard is present.
- The lifeguard has absolute authority over the pool and the waterfront.
- Everyone using the pool is required to shower before and after swimming.
- Visitors must report to the Camp Manager or Director. (If staying for meals, there is a fee. This does not apply to resource people).
- The Camp Manager will complete an inspection of the buildings, grounds and waterfront to ensure they have been properly cleaned prior to staff and counselors leaving the campsite.
- Evaluations must be completed and turned in to the Camp Manager prior to leaving camp.
- The telephone may only be used for collect calls or with a calling card.
- All buildings are to be kept reasonably clean during each camp. (Garbage emptied and floors swept daily).
- Mattresses are not to be moved from the bunks (additional mattresses may be available for other activities).
- All materials /equipment are to be returned to their proper storage area following use.
- The Camp Manager is to be notified of items needing to be replenished or repaired.
- Any damage must be reported to the camp Manager and the cost of repair is the responsibility of the group.
- There is to be no signing of names on painted surfaces i.e. the outside of cabins, windows, trims etc. A charge for the cost of paint and labor may be applied to those involved. (Writing names on the inside on the wood surface continues to be a tradition).
- Camp Wegesegum provides liability insurance for the property. Those renting the camp are responsible for all other insurance coverage.
- Harassment, Abuse, Exploitation or Misconduct will not be tolerated.
- Incident reports will be completed for any and all emergencies, unusual occurrences, misconduct, or complaint or the like. These reports are to be completed promptly following the incident and turned in to the Camp manager.
- The camp director/person in charge is to be familiar with the Emergency Procedure Manual of the Camp and is responsible for ensuring all counselors, staff, volunteers are aware of each procedure.
